The idea for DESIGN STAR GIRLS came
when I saw a need for 'tweenager" girls, (ages 8 and up), to learn to create and design in an
encouraging environment, developing a sense of accomplishment and purpose. (All of the crafts and art are made from primarily
recycled articles).
When I was at their ages, I too
experienced the peer pressure, and lack of self esteem that so many young ladies experience today. So this workshop is more
than just creating, it's creating a sense in these young ladies
that they CAN do challenging
creative things, and come out with something great, something purposeful, made by them....
That they can accomplish much.
That they can make a difference in people, in life,
in the world... by their very own light they shine.
Like stars.
